In this context, an attempt has been made to portray Some of the Macro Demographic Features of the Village Dadpur Inhabited by Clusters Of Eminent Craftsmen. Here an attempt has been made to describe the Demographic Profile of the Population in a hard Environment and economic Condition. The Demographic Data were Collected through Fieldwork and by Census report. The study revealed a growing population with high Literacy rate and Balanced Sex Ratio at Higher Age groups. Majority of the population Describe Their Work Profile as Laborer and Cultivator. Craft is an Expression of Creativity, it is a way to represent Philosophical Aspects and knowledge of a particular Group or Society that Shapes tradition in a particular way, where in Craftsmen as an individual or group Showcases the ability to manipulate the craft form and its experiences by every individual Perceiving it.

Demography of Village

Population: -905 Peoples as per 2011 Census.

Total area: - 55.6 Hectares

Language: - Their common language is Bengali, but few craft artisan can speak and Understand Hindi.

Literacy: - Most of the Peoples are Educated, according to 2011 census the Literacy rate of Dadpur Village is 78.65 %. In Dadpur village Male Literacy stands at 85.45% while the female literacy rate was 70.94%.

Selling price: - The selling price of the craft mostly depends upon the design and amount of labour. The craft with less design and aesthetics is sold around Rs 10000 and Rs 12000 – 13000 with much design.

Dadpur is a medium size village located in Uluberia- 1 Block of Howrah District, West Bengal with approximately 300 families residing. Dhulashimla is the Gram Panchayat of Dadpur Village. This Village is more or less an agriculture-based area and the People are largely dependent on agriculture for their Livelihood.
